Day 5

We finally made it to Illinois.

And since we couldn’t stop in Chicago for lunch, we thought we’d at least take pictures of the skyline.

Chelle really liked this one.

Someday we’ll stop there for lunch. We’ll be sure to plan for parking…etc. It’s okay this time. We were running about 2 hours late anyway (go figure). Even Paulette knew we would be running late and planned accordingly (she took part of the day off because we said we would leave at 10 am). Really, it all works out in the end.

We drove through Indiana.

And stayed the night in Michigan.

We were going to stay at Holiday Shores RV Park in Durand, but changed our minds upon arrival. It looked a lot more upscale than what we expected. Since no one was in the office and no prices were listed, we didn’t want to park only to find out the next morning that it cost $50. Instead, we drove down the road to another campground.

Jacob slept a lot better. Swaddling is really working out for us. He’s been wanting to bite a lot…he may be teething? Chelle has been trying to get him to take a binky. Mostly Chelle holds it while he chews on it.

Tomorrow we make our way through Canada and into New York (so we don’t have to go around Lake Erie) to Niagara Falls. From there we’ll head down to New Jersey and then to Washington DC.

You guys are getting really good at taking pictures of the State signs. Whenever I do it, it comes out more as a blur. Oh well. Adorable picture of Jacob!!
