Day 2
Day 2
We got a late start again. Not as bad as yesterday, only 45 minutes. The drive was, for the most part, uneventful. There was plenty of nothingness for hours. Before entering Wyoming to go to Yellowstone national park, we had to cross into Montana. We were there approximately 9 miles.
We would have a picture of the “Welcome to Wyoming” sign except that it was a small wooden sign on a stick that we didn’t see until we were passing it. The park was full of small wooden signs, most of which pointed to campsites.
The park is a beautiful place. We came to take pictures of Old Faithful (or as Phil keeps mistakenly calling it, “Old Yeller”), but there was so much more to see.
Kinda makes you want to sing “Home on the Range”
Looking at us, you wouldn’t know that it was pretty cold outside.
Yellowstone has a lot of steamy landscapes.
But this is what we came to see…Old Faithful. Thar she blows!
And this was just a bonus (Yellowstone Lake).
The drive out of the park was scary at times. The ‘East Entrance’ road (the one we were taking to get out of the park) was under construction. Just when we thought the road couldn’t get any more treacherous, it narrowed and became even windier. The lack of guard rails coupled with the steep ravines had Phil white-knuckling the steering wheel for quite some time. He said that was the scariest drive he’s ever taken, and he wouldn’t have wanted to do it even in his Explorer, let alone a 31-foot RV.
We stayed at Shell Campground & RV Park in Shell, Wyoming. This little town has a population of a whopping 50, and yet they have WiFi. Apparently, people come there to look for dinosaur bones, and like to get online at the end of the day. It was wonderful to post our “Day 1” entry so soon.
Jacob didn’t sleep so well again. We’re beginning to wonder what the problem could be. Is he napping too much during the day? He almost has a schedule now, at least during the day. It’s nighttime that has become a real issue. We hope to get something figured out soon so we can get some sleep. (Yeah, right…sleep…)

Nice shots! I think I went to Yellowstone when I was 5 or so and can't remember any of it. Thanks for sharing the pictures. Oh and good luck with Jacob! I am sure it will get better soon.
